long overdue!!

Well I know it has been a long time since I have posted and I apologize, but you know it is busy here with going to the pool, and playing on the beach.  Jerry went home for 10 days to visit family and friends while I stayed here and managed the boat, dog and kitty cat.  It is never the same without him here, but we made the best of it.  Here are some pictures of the activities that have been going on:
Happy Hour at the pool with other cruisers!!

SV Lisa Kay, SV Bambalero and SV SOMF had papusa dinner up the road from the hotel

Jan's puppies on the Island are so big, she has gotten homes for all of them now

Every puppy like ice cookies!!

I took a bus trip with Lisa and Dawn and her daughter Whitney to Zacatecoluca to go to the market from some fresh produce.  This is a picture of the inside of the church, they are getting ready for Semana Santa, the big Easter holiday in Central America.

The very very busy streets of shoppers

Of coarse I still am going to the beach with Skeeter!

During Semana Santa week they had bands on the beach.  I went over on Saturday night with some other cruisers, they sure do know how to party
When Jerry went back to the States I did go on one trip with some of the other cruisers.  We went through Jorge with Tour In, we went up through San Salvador then up East to Suchitoto which is a little town, but at one time ago it was the capital of El Salvador before they moved the capital to San Salvador.  Suchitoto was very clean and well keep, a great place to walk about the streets and enjoy the view.
The town of Aguilares in Cuscatlan County, first stop for shopping

This town is known for their clay pottery work

There we 16 cruisers who went so we needed two vans

Entering the town of Suchitoto

We stopped and had lunch at Posada Suchitlan

The group at lunch

The beautiful view overlooking Lago Suchitlan

All the casa's that had this symbol on their door ways meant that they do not allow abuse to women in their homes

Los Almendros de San Lorenzo, the lovely hotel we stayed in

Inside the front door they had this great map of El Salvador

The owner and his dog Lorenzo ( this is a dog friendly place...I should have brought Skeeter)

Blue, cool pool, what else could you ask for!

Our included dinner at the hotel

The next day myself and some other cruisers went and did some sight seeing and of coarse shopping!  This is the outside of their beautiful church

The inside of the church

We watch a family make tortillas

The wonderful green streets

They had a great indoor markets, selling everything from clothes to flowers for cooking

Later that day we took a panga ride through Lago Suchitlan to a bird island.  Then headed back to Bahia Del Sol after a fun two days.
While Jerry was gone I did do some work on the boat, I scrubbed the sides of the boat and all the fender to get the grime left on from Chiapas off.  Jerry got back on Thursday and that Sunday was the closing party for the rally.  They had a great band, and some of the officials of the country were in attendance, along with an awards ceremony and dinner.  Unfortunately Jerry and I did not win any of the big prizes, but we had a great time dancing.
