On Monday we, along with three other boats took a jungle tour up through the Rio Tovara. The tour was a blast, we all met up at the marina at 6:45am, which for cruisers is really really early, and got a couple of taxi's to take us up to the tour. We had a great guide who went slow and stopped at every bird and reptile that we all wanted to take pictures of, there were 8 of us so we stopped alot. Within this unique area there are over 300 bird species, along with turtles, iguanas, and wild crocodiles. At the end of the of the river is Camalota Spring where a local family operates a cocodrilario ( crocodile refuge). After three hours of this amazing tour we all agreed this was well worth the 150 pesos per person, anywhere in the states this would at least been a 50 USD trip.
