Jerry and I have been in San Blas for 4 night now and we are really loving it. We are working hard on the boat trying to get her looking good again, we have washed and started to redo the teak oil. Next we will work on the dingy and finish getting our bug screens on, the bugs have not been to bad and we just close up the boat at night.
But don't worry it has not been all work, we have enjoyed going into town square and walking around.

San Blas was hit hard in October with flood damage, the community has been working hard to revive the town with the help of some of the cruising community! |

The streets are paved and relatively clean |
They have been celebrating the Three Kings, with festivities in the square on Thursday afternoon. They had dancing, contest, and to finish it off they had some kind of cake on tables that when all around the square.
There is a restaurant called Mambe' here in the marina, and we have enjoyed having a few beers and some dinner a few nights with some of the other cruisers here in the marina and ones anchored out in the estuary. The restaurant has been in the marina for about a year with two or three guys who run it, they live in Tepic which is about an hour away.

We had a little dinner on SOMF last night, SV Akupara brought some snapper that they had caught in Mazatlan along with a few lobsters they had. SV Day Ja Vu brought shrimp that Tony cooked in a white wine and garlic sauce, and like always I made a delicious salad and Jerry was in charge of cocktails.

Today we are going to do some more teak work and start cleaning the stainless steel rails, SOMF is starting to look great again, she needed some TLC after being at sea and anchorages for the last 10 weeks. Tomorrow we are planing on doing the jungle tour, there will be eight of us all going so it should be a lot of fun, and hopefully get some good pictures.

Why are most of your posts and pictures about food?
There does seem to be a theme here LOL I guess it is because we are so amazed at the good food in even the most remote areas or the food that we or our friends catch. By the way getting ready to check out the local pizza place, we'll post our review. Jerry
No wonder you aren't replying to your emails! You're both having the time of your lives!!
Wish I was there!!
